Unknown Worlds is moving fast. Subnautica 2 launched into Early Access on May 14 and has already sold over 4 million copies in under 8 days. Two hotfixes landed this week to address community feedback and stability issues. Hotfix 1 on May 19 improved AMD and DirectX 12 startup error guidance, fixed an infrequent Ping crash, and changed analytics to only start after Terms acceptance. Hotfix 2 on May 21 was the meatier update — more Silver resource areas were added in the early game region and more Troilite areas in the late game to address resource scarcity complaints. Hammerheads are no longer as attracted to Tadpole lights, fixing the frustrating follow-back-to-base pattern that was making base building feel punishing. Tadpole teleporting and infinite oxygen bugs were also squashed. Unknown Worlds acknowledged that further creature balance tuning, aggression timing, flare effectiveness, and vehicle interaction fixes are actively being worked on.

Deadlock Patch Notes — May 22 Gameplay Update
Date: May 22, 2026
This is one of the most ambitious Deadlock patches in recent memory. Valve completely reworked the Soul Urn — the pickup, delivery location, and carry buffs all function differently now, fundamentally changing how teams contest and bank it. Valve is upfront that this is an experiment they want feedback on.
Beyond the Urn, the patch touches nearly every system. Base HP was reduced by 10 for all heroes. HP per boon was reduced by 3. Guardians take more damage in the early game. Medium neutrals now spawn a minute earlier. A new Tier 1 Vitality item called Grit was added at 800 cost. Two jump pads from the middle of the map were removed. Sliding no longer resets sprint speed. Knockup durations are now affected by debuff reduction.
Over two dozen heroes received balance changes. Victor's wall-breaking strategy was effectively killed. Kelvin caught heavy nerfs. Rem went from a fringe pick to potentially the strongest support in the game. Celeste, Lash, and Yamato all received buffs. Apollo and Pocket were nerfed. The meta heading into June will feel noticeably different.

Forza Horizon 6 Patch Notes — Series 1 Hotfix 1
Date: May 19, 2026
Playground Games rolled out the first post-launch hotfix for Forza Horizon 6, which launched on May 19 to massive player numbers. The primary fix targets Profile Loading errors on startup that were preventing some players from getting into the game at all. Playground noted their investigation into these errors continues and encouraged players to use the Gaming Services Repair Tool as a workaround. A multiplayer fix addressed game invites via the Xbox App closing the game entirely instead of joining the session. PC crashes remain under investigation, with Playground noting that some reported crashes stem from hardware below minimum specs or unsupported operating systems. Valve also pushed a Proton Hotfix for Linux and SteamOS users alongside the launch.

Slay the Spire 2 Patch Notes — Beta v0.106.0 & v0.106.1
Dates: May 22 (v0.106.0) and May 22 (v0.106.1 hotfix)
Mega Crit's latest bi-weekly patch focuses on enemy balance and card reworks. The Infested Prism received a full rework. Skulking Colony got another makeover — it can now take a minimum of 20 damage per turn (up from 15) and no longer gains block on any of its turns. The Aeonglass boss received moveset adjustments that make the fight more threatening.
On the card side, Defect players came out well with multiple buffs. The Silent received the most structural changes of any character this patch, including a full card rename and rework — Follow Through is gone, replaced with a new card. Ironclad's Unrelenting got a flat damage bump from 12/18 to 14/20, and Drum of Battle was completely reworked from a Power into a Skill with Exhaust synergy. The Neow relic swap between Scroll Boxes and Silken Tress shifts run-start strategy significantly. A quick v0.106.1 hotfix followed the same day fixing Aeonglass-related issues and localization updates.

World of Warcraft Patch Notes — Hotfixes May 19 & May 22
Dates: May 19 and May 22, 2026
Two rounds of hotfixes this week with major economy and class changes. The headline: Crest caps and Conquest caps have been removed entirely for the rest of Season 1. Players can now accumulate unlimited upgrade Crests and Conquest, removing the time-gating that had been a persistent community complaint.
Blood Death Knight received a significant survivability pass — Dancing Rune Weapon now grants 25% Parry (up from 20%), Blood Fortification grants 40% Stamina (up from 35%), Improved Death Strike healing was tripled to 15% (up from 5%), and Dance of Midnight now grants DRW for 8 seconds (up from 6). Blizzard cited the need to smooth out Blood's damage intake outside cooldown windows.
PvP received a global health increase to slow down burst kills. Gladiator's Distinction now provides an additional 5% Stamina and Voidstone Shielding Array absorption was halved in PvP. Raid boss tuning hit multiple encounters including Starsplinter, Criticality, and Midnight Crystal scaling in smaller group sizes. The repeatable Legends of the Haranir quests are now available to Warband characters.

Diablo IV Patch Notes — 3.0.2 Hotfix 1
Date: May 19, 2026
The Lord of Hatred hotfix cadence continues. Hotfix 1 for Patch 3.0.2 fixed Blood Lance dealing far more damage than intended under certain circumstances — likely another build-breaking exploit that emerged as players pushed deeper into the endgame. Warlock's Eviscerate Fragment was also patched for dealing unintended damage when paired with specific setups. Both fixes suggest Blizzard is closely monitoring damage outliers as the new classes settle into the meta.

Deep Rock Galactic: Rogue Core Patch Notes — EA:00.07.09
Date: May 21, 2026
Ghost Ship Games pushed the first post-launch patch for Deep Rock Galactic: Rogue Core just one day after the May 20 Early Access launch. The patch addressed initial bug reports and balance feedback from the community's first full day with the game. Rogue Core launched at $12.99 (28% discount for original DRG owners) and translates the co-op mining formula into a roguelite framework with procedurally generated caves, escalating difficulty, and the mysterious Expenite mineral driving the campaign. The game is planned for 18–24 months of Early Access development.

RIFT Patch Notes — May 19, 2026 Update
Date: May 19, 2026
The long-running MMO received a content update adding new titles for community events. Titles for Dungeon Dash, Ascended Trial: Bloodstorm, and Rift Hunter were introduced, giving players new cosmetic rewards for engaging with the game's event rotation. A smaller update, but a sign that RIFT's community-driven development continues to push regular content.
